Hat Tip to nuclear cocaine

Every once and a while it just so happens that a particular player can help make a Defcon session (read: 12-16 hours) a very enjoyable experience. This happened to me today with player nuclear cocaine. After raping me as ru from the arctic in a 2v2, we happened to team together on about four or five...

Re: Bomber turning around in place

I'm not sure of all the conditions in your scenario, and I can't say I recall ever seeing one intentionally (manually) turned around with NO radius. With that said, I am aware of one method which allows TIGHT turning radii, but it has limited uses; namely, you can set the path of a bomber so that wh...

Tobias (as EU) defeats Gyarados (as RU) in 1v1

I wouldn't waste the time except I have some respect for the skills of Gyarados. You can make your own analysis, but I must say that I often do with four silos as much as others do with six. Recording: https://defcon.vsj.fi/index.php/singlegame/dcrec/1654019/EUvsRU_2017-05-10_05-37-06.dcrec

Player T'Pol is a so-called "Nuke Bunker" (aka azzhole)

You can learn a lot about the character of a player when you see how they react to having their game expectations bubble burst. How does a player react when, contrary to their expectations, the tide of battle turns decidedly against them? Some players rage quit. Some players, it seems, turn to so-ca...

Re: SFCON [Solved]

I am also in the US, but have had no problems with SFCON server. I do appreciate the provision of any and all dedicated servers. Without these there would be no defcon. Thank you Senator.

Bug, Hack, or What? (Disappearing Nukes)

What was it that caused this game to go into limbo, where the timer never started? In game I noticed some unusual events: 1) The Russian sub launch seemed strange to me because there were no targets in range from where he was firing. What was he launching at with so many nukes I wondered? 2) I kept ...

Tobias (as EU) defeats Baton (as RU) in 1v1

OK, so Baton (suspiciously) drops in the end game, but since it's such a rare event for me to defeat Baton, I wanted to take the opportunity to memorialize it.

Re: The "Fighters Can Kill Nukes" Myth revisited

@xander: I've tried to offer the source code argument as the definitive proof. It goes in one ear and out the other. The latest rationale seems to be that "fighters would not auto-target nukes if they could not shoot them down." An interesting additional argument, which I had not heard bef...

The "Fighters Can Kill Nukes" Myth revisited

It seems that some myths never really die, or they come back on their own from time-to-time. Having watched numerous games, and monitored the discussion on the topic of whether or not fighters can shoot down nukes in flight, I have come to believe that the general consensus is that it is impossible....

Help Locating a Particular Mod

I've recently purchased a new license for Defcon, having lost my old one when I disposed of an old computer and didn't do the proper record keeping. In any case, I used to use a "mod" (although I'm not sure it is strictly a "mod" per se) that allowed me to change the shape of the...

Msg?

So, I get an email from "john" saying that I have received a pm from trickser. I log into my account, and am told "no new messages" or such. I see a new forum layout. I am lost. Help me. Is there a message or not? Thankfully I have been reassured that a new mission awaits me upon...

I learned by tobias game. Blame him. Sure, blame me. But I have no idea what you're talking about. I have never run ships on land intentionally; and the few times I've found them there I've never used them. Let's not get carried away with wild unfounded accusations as a result of "Defcon induc...
