It's called "the law of superior tonnage" - the nation with enough nukes to blow the world up a few times over, gets to have the rest of the world bend over to them, or recieve some laser guided democracy, in 10MT packages :wink:

no You can, however, synchronise the silos so all the missiles hit the target in short intervals, making it harder to defend. Manual synchronisation I am assuming? You're assuming correctly. You just have to guesstimate approximately when to launch so they make it to target at about the same time.

Does anybody else find after playing Defcon for an hour or two, that they expect the mouse wheel to zoom in and out in Windows ? Makes me think it would be a handy feature as well! Yeah, it happened to me :shock: Also, I keep pressing 4 while looking at the firefox' downloads window...if only that ...

But in Orwell's 1984, it's pretty clearly stated that the war wasn't meant to be won, but just to be fought; wouldn't this defy the concept of DEFCON, which turns out into an all-out nuclear exchange in a matter of hours? And besides, were ICBMs even invented in Orwell's dystopia?
