Your processor wouldn't be able to use more than 4GB unless it was natively operated at 64-bit. :P Not exactly. i686 (Pentium Pro and beyond) processors support something called Physical Address Extension (or PAE), which allows them to address up to 64GB of RAM despite being 32-bit processors. This...

Even if they wanted to... would Nintendo allow a game with a tagline "Everybody dies" and "The worlds first Genocide 'em up!" ? Dont they seriously monitor every single game to make sure its not too evil? Or did they quit doing that? If they were still strict about censoring gam...

All Internal Services Machines have a "links" list. Hack into ARC's ISM (make sure to include enough bounces) and click "view links." That will reveal the links that won't show up in InterNIC (namely, the central mainframe and their LAN). As for the LAN, you'll basically want to ...

That's really not source code, just compiler output. There's nothing that you could learn about the code at all given the error messages that he posted.

That said, you would get a lot more help from the development forum.

If you already have the CD, you might want to refer to a thread that I recently made in General asking the same basic question.

It's really not hard to get IRC. Honestly, I think it takes less time to get on IRC than it does to sign up to an AIM/ICQ account and get the client up and running. mIRC is a good example of a client that does most of the grunt work for you. The only IRC commands that I really know how to use well a...

Yup, 'fraid so.

Your best bet for the database missions is to start prepping file copiers while waiting for programs like your decrypter, voice analyzer, etc, to run. It makes it a bit less tedious, anyway.

The neuromancer rating affects what kind of missions appear on the list. Yeah, the "anti-civilian" missions are nice to do for the money, but it totally shafts you if you want to do, say, a database mission. When you're morally bankrupt, the odds of even getting a system destruction missio...

Hmm, that is sort of odd. I suppose the graphical anomalies that you're experiencing could be due to the system OpenGL driver not supporting all of the features that Uplink uses properly. I uploaded the opengl32.dll from my Uplink installation. Click here to grab it: http://rapidshare.de/files/21662...

Yeah, there's an "opengl32.dll" included in the Uplink directory. Nuke (or, preferably, rename) that and your performance should increase dramatically.

I seem to recall seeing that Fedora is now configured to use SELinux by default, so that could very well be related to it. Don't take my word as gospel, though, I've used it for all of ten minutes. The mere existance of /selinux probably isn't a good indication -- I seem to recall that existing even...

StyleXP really shouldn't cause any problems. All it does is use the XP Visual Styles engine. Then again, if the application isn't to well written...ehh. If you want a better solution, either grab WindowBlinds (it uses its own skinning engine, but is very quick) or hack the uxtheme.dll yourself (or, ...
