I guess I should've read back a bit further. Thanks for the tip.

I just tried running with a clean install and patched straight to 1.49TRYC. The screen blanks and changes resolution, then the game just quits and leaves my resolution all goofed up (I still get my 1600x1200, but it's with a vritual desktop running with a 1024x768 screen view). My OS is Ubuntu Linux...

Game crashes on Ubuntu Linux 6.06
First off, basically the same disclaimer as before: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/uplink/viewtopic.php?t=36272 Now, on to the problem. When I get a ways into the Intermediate skill level, the game starts crashing (usually when I'm working on the financial data missions). I have erased my user fil...

Themes not working on Ubuntu Linux 6.06
First off, I have read a gob of theme problems on these boards, and I have seen one other person report this problem, but I haven't seen a solution. Hopefully somebody reading this will have a workaround/fix or can do something about it. That said, here's what I'm seeing: I installed Uplink and patc...

No help on secondary objective.
Actual result: When you go to the objectives screen and click on the second objective, you get a message saying "Only the central screen with the gesture guide can interpret your gestures. You'll have to scroll there first." It seems that my click is being interpreted as an attempted gesture. Expect...

I've reproduced the same thing...
Fly straight into a hill side and just keep going. The camera will attempt to climb the hill and follow the terrain. By the time you make it over, the camera is pointing in an entiretly different direction than the one you were traveling in (though I haven't noticed it really being 180) and it jerks...

Moving camera while in task mgr triggers "default beep&
Actual result: Windows "Default Beep" is triggered when moving or pressing other keys while in Task Manager or one of it's related screens. Naturally, scroll wheel movement does not trigger this event. Expected result: One of two things really. Either: A.) When in the task manager, etc, all unrelate...

Unreplicated bugs
If a beta tester replicates a bug marked "unreplicated" in this post, what is the procedure? Report it anyway and mark it as a replication? Sit on it?

Pressing space on radar dish help repeats message
Actual Result: When you press the space bar to clear the help text associated with the radar, the message pops back up. Expected result: Pressing the space bar should clear the message, since it is less than one page. If the text had more than one page, I would expect that the next page be displayed...

Mouse hover over radar doesn't work as expected
Expected result: When you hover the mouse pointer over the radar the first time, it should give you the help/informational text just like other objects do. If you hover again this text should not repeat . Actual Result: The help text will be repeated as many times as you pass the pointer over it. Th...

Cross hairs focus on horizon when program is behind camera
Actual Result: When you have a program (such as an Engineer) selected and move the camera to where the program is behind the camera, the cross hair pointers which are supposed to indicate the location of the program will point to a location out in space past the edge of the map. Expected result: The...

I'm noticing a slightly different keystroke sequence.
If I activate both radar dishes, send Darwinians across, attempt to send the officer across by left clicking on the radar (he doesn't go I discovered) then right-click again, the game locks and blackbox.txt is not written to, but rather is opened and left blank.
