It never was that way. It only behaves that way when you draw the walls one block at a time. It doesn't behave like the Wall Planning tool does; never did.
Instead: use the clone tool from quick build after you've made your first cell. It's by far the fastest way of making cell blocks.

I was yes, but I also flushed all of my mods, completely deleted Prison Architect(from Steam, and in AppData), unsubbed all of my mods, reinstalled, and the problem persists.

New beta build sprites are borked
Basically; most objects are displaying the wrong sprite. We're talking prison buss' for trees, wardens for delivery trucks, and spiritual leaders for prayer mats. Additionally the staff needs toggle on the new prison menu needs it's text adjusted. Flushing mods/reinstall/etc does nothing to fix this.

I'm new here, and there's probably a better solution, but here's a dirty trick you can use when you can't grab the name of a sprite: Target a pixel on the middle of the Warden's chest and pull the color value of that pixel and store that color value with the name of the Warden. Do this for every War...

I'm relatively new to the PA code base, but until you get a more comprehensive answer: I'd suggest looking at the Policy code, and maybe try implementing the action you're trying to trigger a search for as a new item on the Policy list.
