The setup script used in version 1.2.1 of darwinia is old and doesn't play too nicely with newer distros. On arch64, you'll need the multilib repository enabled. sudo pacman -S lib32-libstdc++5 sh darwinia-complete-1.2.1b.sh --keep --noexec cd darwinia mv bin/Linux/x86/darwinia . rm -r bin setup.* l...

It's a shame that 2008 was a poor year for introversion, and that things are going poorly. It's never a good thing to have all hope riding on a single title, particularly one that is primarily a port; and therefore targeting an unknown audience. Every cloud has a, however hidden and cliché, silver l...

The problem looks more network related to me -- the "CLIENT identity unknown" messages imply that there is difficulty working out the IP address. Make sure multiwinia is not blocked in any firewalls (primarily local ones, like the Windows Firewall that's part of vista). If that doesn't wor...

Merry Christmas All; have fun. It's 7:00 in the evening over here, and festivities are drawing to a close. (Hence the computer use :) ).

Enjoy the holiday season, and envy goes out to all of you out there with something other than a boiling summer.

Short answer: You can't yet -- only beta testers can host dedicated servers at the moment, and jelco selects which servers get linked to the ladder. This isn't something anyone can do for an afternoon ;) .

This is a network bug. Multiwinia can't find your IP address. Try Defcon -- You'll probably find the same error there. This is probably caused by an overzealous firewall, try disabling any firewall you may have (don't forget to turn it back on :) ) and see whether that helps. As a temporary fix, dis...

Awesome!

It's a shame that defcon still doesn't work properly when the screen (or screens) are too wide.

The "ready" button is there, it's just invisible.

It's a bug -- click where it should be and all shall be well. :)

Also -- beta test match winner badges. Do I get two for winning two games (and do we get to choose foamwinian colours?) :P

It's the in-game network analyser. His knowledge of it reveals (along with his review of the original Darwinia ) that -- deep down -- he really does like Darwinia & Multiwinia and is just intentionally being a twat. If he hated the game so much, why did he buy both it and darwinia (and get up to...
