That's an Americanism (and maybe a UKism too, I have no idea what the moron-status is there at the moment)
Adding fucking or motherfucking doesn't make it impolite, not in this context.

Being 'offended', on the other hand, is something else.
But I honestly don't care about anyone's feelings when they get 'hurt' by a word that is not even directed at them.

Also Linux users you can run the game rather well in WINE as my friend does on his custom Linux box.
Or you could create a Windows partition and play on that.

POSTING STUFF LIKE THIS IS NOT GOING TO GET THE LINUX PORT DONE QUICKER.

As you noticed, this topic is already talked about elsewhere. Leave it at that. As far as we know, the Linux version is in the works, but the network compatibility is a big problem (and was what held up the DEFCON Linux version for half a year). So have some patience.

Its only a question out of interest, with a poll added because I wanted to see what kind of enthusiasm there was among linux users. There's no need to be a complete dickhead about it. If this poll is not of interest to you then move on.

Uh, right. I wasn't being entirely serious when I made that post, you know?

That said, I don't see any particular need to bump this fairly old topic just to start more flamewars (yes I know you originally posted it, but it's hardly gone anywhere constructive). I'm sure the Linux version is coming at some point, no need for everyone to keep arguing angrily about the relative merits of waiting/installing Windows/sacrificing goats to IV in the hope of getting it done faster.

But, but, but it's a kernel! Not an OS! Netbooks are made by Psion! Many "o"s are followed by "u"s!

Well, I thought the post was quite obviously sarcastic Confused

This being the internets, I suppose that's not always clear. Anyway, Pox has found a new topic to argue about, quick!

Right Smile Linux would be nothing without the GNU stuff. Calling it GNU/Linux is just fair. Or maybe Linux/GNU. Or GNL (Gnu's Not Linux). Or Gnulix.

Eruaran: get over it already. I think we as a whole showed an allergic reaction to your appearance of a pushy penguin fanboy, which you may not be after all. Try talking about something else for a change, I'm sure it'll help.

The first paragraph was in response to Marvin, Pox and prophile. The second bit was for you. Let me elaborate: despite your constant claims otherwise, your appearance here pretty much is that of a Linux lunatic/zealot/fanboy. One that easily takes things personally. What we are attacking is not you, but this image, because fanboys of all colours are annoying. If that image does not really describe you, you have no reason to be offended, and instead of rotating around yourself and responding to each and every critique, you should just move on.

Okay, at the risk of a swam of "be paitient, it's coming", "why are you bothering to bump this thread", "don't be a Linux fanboy" etc...

Any news of a Linux port? Or is that just being swept under the rug now?

Incidentally, I bought this on Steam but would gladly pay the price again to buy it from here if I could get a Linux version. I'd give the Steam version to my brother. Very Happy

Actually, someone else is working on Linux Smile But there are limitations. There is no way to make anything built from the distributed sources compatible with the retail versions. Linux players will be on an island.
