Hi
Having followed the betas, and preordered the Windows version, I really don't need to download just under 60MB when I know I have most of these precious bytes on my shiny CD... Any chance of a "slim" download?
Some of us still have monthly caps on our broadband, y'see, or just don't want to wait several minutes when given the choice.
Thanks, looking forward to enjoying the final build!

It's on! :p
And I'd also like to second cde's point about the 'slim' download. It'd be nice to have something like Darwinia and Uplink; a sh-file which links to the CD/directory containing sounds.dat and any other files which aren't unique to the Linux version. (Unless, of course, the sounds.dat is different?) |

This is only the 32bit Linux binary, you should seriously consider compile Defcon to a 64bit Linux binary.
Complaints aside, I love Defcon and I love Linux, luckily I currently run 32bit OS so I've just purchased myself a key, I'm really looking forward to see the next project from IV |

Don't be ashamed of yourself, xander. It's obvious that this just made you so childishly happy, that you've returned to being a n00b for a short period of time.
I'm sure it'll be gone in a week or so...
Anyways, congratulations! Now I can finally use my vitual Linux machines for something useful!

 |
|
I've started creating Debian/Ubuntu packages of Defcon strictly for my own use.
* Would it be possible for me to redistribute these packages?
* Would you be interested in hosting these Ubuntu packages yourself?
* Would it be possible to let ex. these Defcon packages be hosted in Debian/Ubuntu's own package repositories?
I don't see the disadvantage of this, If you're interested I could create the .deb packages for you.
PS. To reassure you, I would/will never redistribute the files without permission to do so. |

Oh please say YES to repo hosting of Defcon! Auto-updating, nice icons and integration with the Games menu, more people might get the demo, another reason to evangelise about Ubuntu...
Damn, I just realised how sarcastic that sounded. I really AM an Ubuntu user who preordered Defcon way back when, and have been playing on XP until recently. I even bought licenses for friends and family, but now I just sound like a salivating fanboy.
Just nuke me. |

Yeah, same here - please do that! I actually downloaded the whole tarball once again, just to make sure I really had the latest version ... |

| I just found out yesterday, and I bought Defcon. I am a huge fan of IV's games, so even though I don't game much on my PC anymore (love my Wii), so I don't buy many games, I picked it up anyhow. Thanks for porting to Linux! |
