Cant start a game

Postby Sixu » Sun Jul 01, 2007 12:30 pm

Hello, I recently download and bought a boxed copy of Defcon (and the soundtrack) :P

For some reason though, my game won't start? But less than a week ago the demo did.

As you can see I can't start a game because the panel is missing/hidden. When I hover my mouse over the area the cursor changes, as you can see.

This a network problem, Defcon is probably not able to found your computer IP or is not able to connect to your own computer IP because of a firewall, ...

A) Add Defcon to any Firewall you have running.

B) Could you post your debug.txt file found in the Defcon directory?

C) Post ipconfig output?
1) Press the 'Start' button
2) Select 'Run ...'
3) Enter 'cmd' (if on windows XP/2000) or 'command' (if on windows 9x) in the 'Open' textbox.
4) Press the 'OK' button
5) After the command prompt as opened, enter 'ipconfig'
6) Select the output and paste it here. (You may need from the menu that appears when clicking on top left corner icon the 'Edit' -> 'Mark and 'Edit' -> 'Copy' functions)

D) Are you able to join a game created by someone else?

A) I just have the wondws firewall, Defcon is listed in the exceptions. I also disabled the entire firewall and tried to see if that made any difference. To no avail.

0.1.0.4 is an invalid IP, on your "Local Area Connection 3", 'Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)' properties, try entering an 'Alternative Configuration' with an address like 192.168.0.10 with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 . After that reboot.

Please post back if it works or not.
