What's there to explain?
Stuff explodes if contacted by a large object going 11km/s. So why go to the expense of using nuclear weapons when you can use giant hammers?
Besides, I just wanted to make a mod that was blocky and loud with pronounced lines. I tried to make all the strokes of my icons much larger than those of the origional Defcon, but I don't think I did so well.
Anyway, enjoy fellas:

It shouldn't interfeare with anyone else over the internet (haven't tested...) the things that have been changed were the graphics and the english.txt file, which I don't think causes Defcon to combust if it recognizes another system. That, AFAICT, is only when maps are edited. |

What you did is exactly right IMHO. The absolute most important thing, to my mind, is to make everything highly visible and to be able to tell the difference between the units from as far away as possible. OK, not all of your mod is 'for me', but I absolutely love the fighters and bombers. If you were to make something more 'traditional' and keep the broad brushstrokes, I'd be on it in a second. |

Maybe I'll do another one along similar lines. The dropping hammers idea came for drawing up a new shape for the Nuke. The idea stuck and I went from there.
Might have something to do with it being nearly 2am in the morning when I completed it...
Although it would be nice to change that !)$*%& hue around the lower-right icons, as well as the lower right icons themselves (Would be nice if they were bigger). |

Thats awesome, nice job.
I'm really impressed with the overall high quality of all the graphical mods that have been released so far, keep up the good work.
Incidently, the size of the icons on the bottom tray is dependant on the size of the tray. You can make them bigger or smaller simply by resizing the tray, which can be done by dragging the bottom corner. |
