I'll try this out right now! =D

EDIT: first reply! w00t!

EDIT AGAIN: uhm... yeah ok... this mod is not good. I can't hardly play it cause it lags my computer, and there's only one level. no storyline whatsoever. This is not fun. Sorry man, on a scale of 1 to 10, this gets a 2. (10 being the best of course.)
Of course, this is just MY opinion. If your computer is strong enough to handle a million enemies this might be an interesting challange.

Hi. It's not really playable, more a rolling demo, if you like. My PC lags after say 7-8 minutes. Maybe I will make a light remix. Smile

Hi. I'm sorry you didn't like it. It was not meant to be playable, but rather to be seen evolving. Maybe it should be called "rolling mod". Smile

EDIT The topic has now be changed to "rolling mod"

it would be better if it had terrain, instead of them just floating around on black space

or is that my fault? (btw I did all the right steps in installing the mod, and i got patch 1.42)here's a screen shot:

I'm pretty sure that's right cuz I had the same thing. I think that if you scaled this down a bit, and added 3 or 4 more levels, it might be a nice mod. A storyline isn't necessary, espiecally if this is just a mod to challenge people, but it still makes things a little nicer.

Hi. There's nothing wrong with your mod. The terrain and water textures have been reduced to a black pixel in order to optimize speed, being that the creatures materialize the terrain surface.

Using a single black pixel for terrain and water is not going to speed things up significantly. I would suggest using something different. If you insist on using one pixel, at least make it a color. I am inclined to agree with everyone else -- this mode pretty much sucks. It's not playable, so there is nothing to do; it doesn't really show off the Darwinia engine in any way; NOTHING HAPPENS. This is the very definition of suck.

The new version is playable (well, rather). But actually if Die Hard Winia Trilogy ever comes to life, it won't probably be much interactive, but something that you watch like a movie.

yeah, that would be cool; I tried to make a darwinia movie once but was defeated by a lack of recording equipment and blatant boredom. However you have to do something in that level so it isn't a movie.

Hi martin. I tried to separate the tower into zones using laserfences, but darwinians would go through it.
Maybe 4 towers with fewer enemies and a "climb the tower" objective for each will make it more interesting.
Other suggestions are welcome.

That'd be a good idea, but maybe you should just put 2 towers in this level, and then two more in another level. That way you could have even more increased playability, or larger towers. Better yet, you may just want to put all 4 of them in separate levels. (either way, they will have to be smaller then they are now.)

Hi. Thank you for the suggestion. When I have the time I'll probably rework it into one of those options.
