I'm glad I can be of service
So the server has been down for 20 minutes and will stay down until I figure out why it went down in the first place.
It is imperative for me to automate recovery and updating.
EDIT: The server crashed due to an out of memory error while generating the map. I have decreased the resources allocated to map rendering, which means it'll take longer but should crash less.
Every 15 minutes, the server checks if the Minecraft service is running. If this is not the case (and hasn't been for a minute), the Minecraft service has crashed, and the server will reboot.
The server is up again.
Let me know how these things work out. |

Biome-defined grass nuances for the map is pending.
If anybody wants to have a go at making the extractor work with 1.1, here's the source on github. |

I think this just happened again. There were 4 players on the server which may have caused the additional stress. |

Hmm. I will try decreasing the concurrent rendering processes to 2 from 4.
I will be waiting a bit to see if the server recovers by itself, or I need to tweak the service script a bit.
Terribly sorry about the inconvenience. Please have patience while I complete the final touches of the server migration.
EDIT: Server has been restarted.
I have decreased the concurrent rendering processes to 2 from 4. |

Has anyone else noticed any memory leakage since 1.1?
Playing on my main PC, it starts to get jumpy after half an hour or so. Playing on my gf's laptop I actually get out of memory errors and Minecraft/Java crashes after maybe an hour. (Her laptop actually has 6gb of RAM compared to my PC's 4gb but she's only got 32bit java, so it makes no difference :p)
I've been used to many stints of multiple hours on both machines, so something is definitely up here! |

| I was getting memory leaks in 1.0 already, so apparently they just got worse |

| I was getting that in 1.0, but only if I did a lot of traveling (especially to new areas). If I stuck around in one area then I never noticed a problem. |

Memory leaks seem abundant in the server as well, hence the daily restart.
I'm not having any particular issues with the client though, to be honest.
EDIT: Out of Memory error on latest map generation as well.
I have decreased the number of concurrent rendering processes to 1 from 2. We'll see how it goes. |

Double post.
So this is happening, and with it comes a difficult question.
What (if anything) should we do about world resets?
I have two proposals (if you have better ideas, please state them ):
- Never reset the world (unless heavy, incompatible changes happen); we will explore to find new terrain features.
- Reset the world roughly every 6 months; whenever it coincides with a "big" minecraft release.
